Review of ‘Panama Papers’, ACFE Sydney Chapter event

Over sixty ACFE members and guests attended the ACFE Sydney Chapter Training Seminar on the 9 June, 2016 at KPMG. The topic ‘Panama Papers’ drew a diverse audience that was representative of the public interest in the controversy, conundrum and ethical discussions in relation to what is being described as one of the greatest data leaks in history.

ACFE Sydney June Event – The ‘Panama Papers’

In this presentation, the KPMG Forensic and Tax Controversy teams will explore varying issues and challenges presented by the Panama papers leak including the spotlight on tax avoidance, what is being done by local and overseas regulators about the leaks, the difficulties in determining ultimate beneficial ownership which is assisting criminals to conceal the proceeds of crime and how disputes can be managed.
